BRING-ALONG-SCENE-SLAM

This four-week, once-weekly bootcamp pairs returning students with newcomers of their choosing to rehearse a scene from start to finish. New participants get a fast, welcoming introduction to core acting fundamentals, while seasoned Actorcraft students refine skills through peer mentorship and instructor feedback.

Bootcamp culminates with an in-class performance where every scene lifts from page to stage.

CRAFTING THE CHARACTER II

Building on the lessons learned in the Acting Foundations and presented over the course of 16 weeks (2 eight-week sessions), Crafting Character II provides students the opportunity to strengthen physical, vocal, and emotional skills necessary for expanding range of performance, first on stage then on screen.

Through an imaginative exploration of the tools associated with the Michael Chekhov technique; improvised performances; and scene work, students completing this course will harness the ability to unearth truly transformative characters.

ACTING FOUNDATIONS I: PAGE to STAGE (beginning students)

This 8-week class session provides opportunity for adult actors to cultivate the physical, vocal, and emotional skills necessary for crafting compelling performances. Over the course of 8 weeks students will cultivate confidence; build physical, vocal, and emotional awareness; explore technique; analyze the page; explore the rehearsal process, and perform scenes together on stage.

New and returning students are encouraged to register.

IN-DEPTH SCENE STUDY: PAGE to STAGE (experienced students)

Take your work further in this 8-week deep dive into stage performance. Through scenes from published plays and guided application of Uta Hagen’s Nine Questions, actors refine specificity, strengthen presence, and explore the tools needed to create truthful, textured characters onstage.

Designed for those ready to build on their Actorcraft experience, this course offers a focused progression of technique and practical scene work. Open to students who have completed two Actorcraft sessions or who gain acceptance through audition and/or interview.

ACTORCRAFT P2S seeks 36 young creatives (ages 8–18) to adapt and shoot a series of original short films inspired by award-winning novels. In this one-week camp, students explore screenwriting, on-camera acting, and film production while working in teams on a real movie set. Completed films will be screened at the Galaxy Theatre in Gig Harbor and, hopefully, as a part of the 90 Second Newbury Film Festival in Tacoma.
